life lately

oh, hi there.

thought i would share what we've been up to lately.

this past weekend is the first one in a while (and one of the three since we moved here) that we've actually spent at home.  we have gone home to my parents' or tyler's every weekend because there has just been so much going on.  i think i said that in my last post, but it's been the same since then.

we had my sister's birthday party and charley's lingerie shower on the same weekend.  it was a super busy weekend, but so much fun.

also, my cousin and her kiddos were visiting from baltimore, so we got to spend some time with them.

july 4th, my brother and his girlfriend spent with us and we celebrated with some of tyler's friends from work.  then, we all went to panama city beach.  my second home.  so thankful that my hubby let me stay and spend a few extra days there when he came back to work.

  (17 weeks)

dive-in movie was a hit with the kiddos!

trace and hayden got these awesome tattoos they wanted to show off.  ;)

my bestie got married july 13th!  she was a beautiful bride, and i'm so stinking happy for them both.

i tried to turn my camera on when we all started getting ready for the wedding, and...........nothing...nada...it wouldn't even come on.  i almost cried...over a camera...darn pregnancy hormones.  so, i've requested a new camera as a push gift.  ;)

monday, july 29th, we found out that we're having a baby BOY!  :)  we're so so excited.  of course, we would have been happy with either, but boy was really what we were hoping.
(20 weeks, feeling like a beached whale)

he's an active baby, i know that.  he's constantly moving around and kicking me...or punching me, i'm not really sure which is which.  it's so much fun though.  i'm trying to savor every little movement, because even though right now, it feels like december will never come, i know that time will fly and i want to remember all of this.

we've began our search for a house.  it's a little stressful, but we'll figure it all out.  i know God has the perfect little place for us and i know that He'll provide.  i'm excited about finally having a place of our own!  :)  it's going to be great.  just praying that we can get it all settled before the baby comes!

for my mommy-dear

My mother said it's time for me to start posting again, so here you go, Mom.

The week that we were moving, we found out that we're expecting!!!  We announced to our family and friends pretty early on, because I was suffering from morning sickness all day, every day, and knew that someone would eventually figure it out.  :)  I was only 7 weeks along in this picture.

I'm finally starting to show a little, which is exciting!  The bigger my belly gets, the more real it seems.  I'm 15 weeks, 3 days now and the all day "morning" sickness is finally starting to subside.  Maybe I can actually put on some weight instead of lose it now (not a problem I thought I would ever have).

I'm hoping that now that I'm starting to feel better, maybe I can get out and explore our new city!  The last 11 weeks, I've been too miserable to do anything!  My sweet husband has been so great...cleaning the house, cooking dinner, always taking care of me, even though he's working full time and I'm not.  He's also been driving us back and forth to Thomasville and/or Wakulla almost every weekend.  I'm very blessed.  It's been a crazy busy season for us!  There has been something going on every weekend since we moved that we've had to go back home for.  Mother's Day, birthdays, Father's Day, etc.  Mako enjoys taking trips.  :)

My bestie got engaged and is getting married in a little over two weeks!  Ah!  I'm so so excited for her and can't wait to stand beside her as she commits her love to the man of her dreams!  We're having her lingerie shower this weekend and I'm stressing a little.  Because I've been so sick, I've been procrastinating and still have so much to do to prepare!  It will all work out though and I'm sure it will be fun.

Let's see...I can't think of any other new information at the time.

Yep.  That's about it for now!

adventures

There's something so exciting about moving to a new city. I don't know if it's just because I've never lived more than 30 minutes from home, but I'm loving this feeling! We're making new memories...searching for new favorite restaurants, new places to shop, new parks for Mako, and (hopefully) making new friends (not to replace my old ones...just new ones to add to my heart).

I'd be lying if I said I'm not a tiny bit scared. I am. Now that it's really starting to sink in. Now that Tyler is at work and I'm unpacking our things in our new home. But I know it's going to be good for us. I know in my heart this is where we're supposed to be. It may hurt for a little while, but I know it will get easier. We just have to take it one day at a time.

Bee

direction

Things don't always go the way we plan. Sometimes God has laid out a different path for us than the one we think is right. We just have to choose...do we walk in the one He's paved for us? Or do we go our own way? I don't know about you, but I want to live under the protection of his umbrella...so I've chosen to take the path He's made for me. No matter what. No matter how scary it may be, it's even scarier to think about what could happen if we choose to step out from under the umbrella of protection He is holding over us.

Right now, I'm praying for answers, for patience, and clarity. Direction and guidance. Peace and understanding.

i shot the sheriff...

but i did not shoot the deputy. ok, no i didn't...i would never shoot a cop, or anyone who isn't threatening my life or the life of someone else.

this was my first experience with a gun! yep. 25 years old and had never shot a gun before. i have to be honest. i was really actually quite terrified. my hands were shaking, i was a sweaty mess of nerves. don't ask me why. i couldn't tell you. guns have just always made me nervous...but tyler said that since we had one in the house now, he was going to teach me how to use it.

sorry for tooting my own horn here, but i was pretty impressed with my aim. my husband is a great teacher. :) all i have to say is...don't mess with me. i have a gun and i know how to use it now.

thanks, babe, for being so patient with me!

burn baby burn

we had so much fun at the christmas tree burning party.  i've never seen a christmas tree burn, and truthfully, it was pretty scary how quickly they catch and how incredibly tall the flames get.  nevertheless, i still plan on buying a real trees for christmases in my house. just something about real christmas trees that make it really feel like christmas.

this was our tree. :)

this isn't even half of the trees they had there to burn.

picture taken with only light from the fire...that's how bright these things burn.

tyler thought this was cool. ;)

anyway, other than that, we've been working out like madmen around here. ok, not really. tyler has been working out like a madman. i just work out as much as my weak little body can handle. tyler's so much more dedicated and pushes himself a lot harder than i do. but i know i'm working because i could barely move this past week. and i'm pretty proud of that. i was glad for the weekend though. fridays and saturdays, we rest. phew. resting is my favorite part.
